Appointments

We offer a variety of services to our clients. With a few exceptions (detailed below) most of the costs are contained within the appointment fee. However, where treatment requires further devices, or some medicaments, (such as antibiotics, antifungals, orthoses etc) these may be chargeable separately. Where this is the case it will be clearly indicated before treatment.

All patients must have an initial assessment appointment in order to make a treatment plan. Generally, we are able to undertake treatment as part of this appointment (unless it is a surgical procedure under Local Anaesthetic or something which requires multiple visits).

Standard Assessment

This covers the new patient assessment and treatment for most conditions including corns, callus, most nail problems, and most skin problems. It also covers the primary assessment for Nail surgery and surgical verruca treatments.

It will be helpful for us if you can fill in the pre-assessment Questionnaire and bring it to your appointment. Scroll to the bottom of the page for more information.

Assessment appoints may take up to 30 minutes and cost £53.

Biomechanical assessment

TOG Gaitscan system

This is a more in-depth assessment for biomechanical problems such as musculoskeletal foot pain, knee and ankle problems, gait issues and similar presentations. It may involve assessment of joints, muscles, reflexes, and diagnosis of musculoskeletal problems including plantar fasciitis (and other types of heel pain), ankle joint problems, and presentations more complex conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Charcot Marie tooth and neurological gait issues.

Part of this assessment may include the use of our TOG Gaitscan system, a pressure plate system that can show us exactly how your feet work on the ground when standing or walking.

It will be helpful for us if you can fill in the pre-assessment Questionnaire and bring it to your appointment. Scroll to the bottom of the page for more information.

Biomechanical assessment appointments may take up to 45 minutes and cost £63.

Follow up appointments

Many conditions require ongoing care. Nails tend to grow, and many skin conditions such as corns and callus will often return if the underlying cause cannot or has not been addressed. Follow up appointments are available ad hoc, provided we have seen you for a full assessment within 3 years. This need not be for the same problem you saw us for initially.

Follow up appointments may take up to 30 Minutes and cost £47.

Maintenance (regular) appointments

Some patients require regular, maintenance foot care. This may be because they are unable to cut their own toenails, or have corns or callus which they know needs to be attended to in a timely way to prevent pain or more serious complications. These patients will maintain regular appointments, within 8 weeks or less, to keep their feet in the best possible condition, much like regular servicing of your car or dental checkups.

We prefer maintenance and preventative foot care to waiting for something to go wrong then trying to fix it. Therefore, whilst these appointments allow the same 30 minutes as for follow up appointments, we offer regular appointments for £43.

Other

Headcorn Podiatry Clinic offers a variety of other services including Nail Surgery for permanent meant correction of ingrowing toenails, Custom, prefabricated and semi-bespoke orthoses, Verrutop and Needling procedures for Verrucae and refurbishment of Orthoses.

Prices for these items vary, and will be quoted on request.
